Military Kids Club
MKC is run once a week, after school, by Year 2 Teacher Miss Charlotte Daniels. MKC is a safe place where children can talk to one another when loved ones are on deployment and support them through this difficult time. Activities are very child-led and sometimes sessions are even run by our KS2 Ambassadors. We like to make good use of our fantastic forest school area by making camp fires, climbing trees, playing with the mud kitchens and gardening. We also like to cook, do treasure hunts, arts and crafts and have lots of fun!
MKC works as part of a collection of Plymouth Schools who often meet to discuss fundraisers and network. Throughout the course of the year, the Plymouth MKC Heroes also offer a variety of events to our service children. These events have included tours of HMS Courageous, HMS ocean, visits to the Heritage Centre, swimming at the China Fleet Club, Apple Store Workshops and a fantastic day at 165 Port and Maritime Regiment.
We celebrate Armed Forces Week every year and remember those who have fought in the war. Our service children respectfully lay a Poppy Wreath and observe a 2 minutes' silence at St. Maurice Church, Plympton.
We are so proud of our service children at Chaddlewood School. They are the face of resilience!
