Chaddlewood Primary School

Welcome

Welcome to Chaddlewood Primary School

Chaddlewood is a two-form entry school set in extensive grounds in Plympton, on the outskirts of Plymouth.  Our buildings are surrounded by a Forest School area, a beautiful pond, large playing/athletics fields and exciting adventure playground equipment.

We believe that Chaddlewood is and will continue to be a special place to learn and work. We are a happy, friendly and welcoming community. We take real pleasure in our successes; both in achievement and attainment, and work hard to support children who may make slower progress or get ‘stuck’ in their learning.

The key aim of the school is to produce confident children who are literate and numerate, enjoy a breadth of opportunities to develop a sense of creativity and who have the skills necessary to support their future learning. It is therefore, the development of the ‘whole child’ that we are interested in.

Our most recent Ofsted inspection took place in November 2022 and judged us overall to be a 'Good' school and 'Outstanding' for behaviours and attitudes and personal development. The inspector said, ‘Leaders have high expectations for pupils to be successful. They support and enable pupils to have equally high expectations of themselves.' and 'Leaders offer an exceptional range of opportunities, including extra-curricular activities, to develop and nurture pupils’ talents and interests.'

With Chaddlewood Pre-School and ‘Woodies’ Before and After School Care on site, and holiday clubs, we are confident that we can provide the full range of child care and continuity of learning that you might want for your child.

We are supported by the Friends of Chaddlewood group, who work hard to raise additional funds for the school to provide extra opportunities for the children. This is done in a variety of fun ways, including discos for the children, quiz nights for parents and fairs at Christmas and during the Summer Term.
